Tiger Shoji - Going Beyond First Class Service

An English motoring-journalist was once questioned that if a car were  to serve as a reflection of the national identity of the nation from which it was built, what should a Japanese car be like? His reply was charmingly simple and straightforward - the Japanese car should be meticulous and its service centers offering the highest level of service quality.

While cars are generally getting better and more reliable, car owners are no longer looking at what their cars can do for them, but what the people behind their cars can. The quality of one’s after-sales service is steadily taking a higher priority amongst buyer considerations. To many car owners it is the quality and level of customer service that determines whether they will be returning for a second visit.

However, for pre-owned or grey import car owners who are looking for that first-class treatment, choices are far too few, as they often couldn’t service their cars at official dealerships, but rather independent workshops which only exist to profiteer instead of protecting and taking care of their customers. Until now, where there is a new alternative to be found, in the form of Tiger Shoji, a professional service centre located Glenmarie Shah Alam.

Tiger Shoji Sdn Bhd is a 100% investment from Matsushima Holdings of Japan, a huge complex car dealer in Kyoto, Japan that holds various dealerships including several brands of European car and Japanese car. Set up by a group of highly skilled and experienced Japanese expats, with the day to day operations undertaken by management personnel as well as mechanics from Japan, Tiger Shoji specializes in providing after sales services such as repair and maintenance work for a wide range of passenger cars, especially for European car such as a Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz as well as a wide variety of Japanese cars.

Located in Glenmarie, Shah Alam, the Tiger Shoji after sales service centre is equipped with six service bays and boasts professional equipment that are capable of performing all kind of repair works. Not just a service center, Tiger Shoji goes much further into ensuring the customer cars are in optimum condition. For example, at the reception bay, service advisors from Tiger Shoji will conduct preliminary inspections of the entire car, with which customers will be fully informed before hand, and upon obtaining customer’s consent and with a quotation. Only when the customer gives their consent will Tiger Shoji proceed with the necessary repair works, which includes suspension and brake testing, air conditioning system as well as tyre alignment works. Replacement parts for such cars are sourced from authorised stockists, while two full time and highly skilled head mechanics from Japan are based here to overlook repair and maintenance work that is being carried out.

More than just a place to send your car for a spot of maintenance or repair work, what sets Tiger Shoji apart from other third-party service centres is the level of service shown by its staff. As soon as a customer car comes through its gates, the workshop manager will immediately attend to them and usher them into the customer lounge. While the car is being looked upon by their service personnel, customers can relax in the lounge. After each service and repair work has been done, each car is given a proper wash before being handed back to the customer.

Besides keeping your car in tip-top condition mechanically, Tiger Shoji also has something up their sleeves to keep your car’s looks in its prime, the Tiger Coat. Developed in Japan exclusively for Tiger Shoji, the Tiger Coat is a tough glass coating which not only adds some shine to your car’s paintjob, but also adds a protective layer on top of the paint to protect it from the elements.

Once applied, the quartz-silane-based compound coating is capable of protecting your car’s paintjob from the sun’s heat and rays, corrosive acid rain, and the dust in the air, allowing your car to maintain a mirror finish. According to Tiger Shoji, the Tiger Coat is tough enough to withstand up to three years of use.

Tiger Shoji adopts a Japanese approach to vehicle maintenance and customer care, with close attention being paid to the quality of service and follow-up steps taken to ensure that the technical personnel maintain a high standard of servicing and repair. More than just a service centre that looks after cars Tiger Shoji also adopts a Japanese culture of cleanliness. Every morning Tiger Shoji’s staff would clean up the surrounding vicinity to maintain a clean and welcoming environment for customers and as an appreciation of doing business in the area.

Matsushima Holdings is a 60-year old Japanese company which deals with new and used cars, as well as provide after-sales service and insurance coverage to their customers in Japan. Its Tiger Trading department has been exporting new and used cars since 1978, and today this division is said to export cars to more than 37 countries, with at least 1,200 units being exported to our shores annually. To complement their new and used car business, the group operates a string of repair and service centres across Japan with the mission to ensure the offering of an excellent level of after-sales service that their customers enjoy what they describe as a “Delightful Car Life”, where the customer will not just thinking about repairing cars only but they will also have an impression that the company’s existence is an important part of their lives.

Last year Matsushima Holdings decided to expand their coverage in offering a “Delightful Car Life” experience to customers outside Japan, one of which was Malaysia. This was followed by the opening of the first Tiger Shoji service centre in Malaysia in April last year.

More than just another after sales centre, Tiger Shoji is guided by Matsushima Holdings’ motto of “contributing towards a greater society”, which in this sense is through the improvement of their customers’ standard of life by keeping their cars in tiptop condition. All things considered then, for what Tiger Shoji offers, it is more than just another first class service centre.

Tiger Shoji is located at No. 20, Jalan Juruhebah U1/50, Section U1, Temasya Industrial Park, 40150 Shah Alam. For more information on Tiger Shoji, log on to http://tigershoji.com or call 03-5567 0130.
