SPYSHOTS: New 2015 ISUZU D-MAX Variant Spotted In Shah Alam

Thanks to these tip-off photos from Carlist.my reader Francis, it looks like ISUZU Malaysia may be preparing to launch a “lifestyle” variant of its 2015 ISUZU D-MAX. Seen here is a pretty mean-looking D-MAX wearing trade plates, and some exterior bits we’ve yet to see featured officially on the pick-up.

To be honest, it really doesn’t really surprise us to see Isuzu Malaysia about to launch more “lifestyle” variant of its tough-as-nails D-MAX, given the recent success it’s had with the X-Series first, and the super-styled D-MAX Artic not too long ago.

Back to these photos, and we can see the new variant's name starts with the letter “D” and end with “LO” as visible on the rear cargo door. We asked Isuzu Malaysia about this model, and they've confirmed its coming, and even sent us an invite to the grand launch prepared. Any guesses to what it's called? We'll be revealing full details of it soon enough ;)

One of the biggest giveaways is ISUZU’s familiar V-lid protective cargo cover, which here, looks tweaked to appear a lot more aggressive in design. Oh, and is that a rear wing we see at the back of the pick-up? Nice!

The wheels are also unique, six-spoke and chrome-black finished, while elsewhere, it looks like the side step, roof rails and cargo step are all painted in matching black.

Interestingly, the two headrests visible from the back of the car look to us like red or brown-coloured (leather, too?) seats may make an appearance. And why not: given that the previous Artic featured full brown leather upholstery to match its overall elegant appeal.

ISUZU’s 3.0-litre VGS turbo diesel badging is very clear around the back, and given the rest of the spec featured on the D-MAX pictured here, this is likely the range-topping model in action.

Apart from a few rumours that Isuzu Malaysia would launch its pick-up derived MU-X SUV here sometime this year, the coming of another D-MAX variant is totally unheard of, but certainly most welcomed.
