Suzuki Kizashi Takes On Premium Rivals In New Videos
sponsored links
Suzuki has released three new U.S. television advertisements of the Suzuki Kizashi, a mid-size C-segment sedan competing against larger D-segment rivals like the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and Mazda6 in the U.S.. Such a positioning naturally means that the Kizashi loses out to rivals when it comes to interior room, and its lacklustre total U.S. sales of 5269 units for the first 11 months suggests that it may be overlooked more often than not.
In the videos, however, Suzuki has decided not to pit the Kizashi against the expected rivals, but upmarket alternatives Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Volvo S40 and some other surprising competitors which we find quite redundant. Suzuki is keen to point out the Kizashi's superior braking, cornering ability and quietness compared with the Audi, as well as the better road grip, braking and safety rating over the Volvo.
Equipped with either a 185 hp 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine paired to a six-speed manual gearbox or a 180 hp version of the same engine with a CVT gearbox, the Kizashi piques our interest as it has been spotted running around on Malaysian roads, appearing ready for a launch sometime in 2011. We shall see if Suzuki Malaysia Automobile decides to position the Kizashi as a C-segment or D-segment sedan.
