2011 Volkswagen Polo Arrives In Malaysia

The 2011 Volkswagen Polo has arrived in Malaysia, and is now available for viewing, test drive and booking at all Volkswagen showrooms. The 2010 World Car of the Year can be yours for RM 108,888, a price tag excluding registration fees, road tax and insurance. Now in its fifth-generation, the all-new Polo joins the recently-launched Golf 1.4 TSI and Scirocco 1.4 TSI among Volkswagen Malaysia's expanding model/variant lineup.
Unlike the twincharged 1.4-litre TSI engine in the new Golf and Scirocco variants, the 1.2-litre TSI unit powering the Polo is only fitted with a turbocharger, but manages to churn out 105 hp at 5000 rpm and 175 Nm at 1550–4100 rpm; the availability of the peak torque across a wide band should ensure good drivability. Fuel economy is rated at 18.9 km/litre and emissions at 124 grams/km.
Shared with the Golf and Scirocco, the seven-speed dry-clutch DSG gearbox transmits the generated power to the two front wheels. A five-star Euro NCAP rated car, the Polo comes with dual front airbags, side airbags for the front, and curtain airbags for the front and rear occupants. And to seal the deal, Volkswagen Malaysia is even offering a generous five-year/unlimited-mileage warranty.
