Paris Motor Show: 2011 Next-Generation Suzuki Swift

With small hatchbacks such as the soon-to-be-launched Ford Fiesta and already-launched Mazda2, along with their sedan counterparts, entering markets including Malaysia's, the introduction of the 2011 next-generation Suzuki Swift at the ongoing Paris Motor Show is both timely and necessary.

Longer and taller than the second-generation Swift currently on sale in Malaysia, the all-new Swift also comes with a longer wheelbase which should improve legroom, while its lighter, stiffer body, coupled with wider tracks, should enhance dynamics further.

A more powerful yet cleaner and less thirsty 93 bhp, 118 Nm 1.2-litre petrol engine with dual VVT (variable intake and exhaust valve timing) will replace the current 1.3-litre petrol unit.
