2011 Hyundai Coupe/Veloster To Debut In Three Months, Arriving Early 2011

The 2011 next-generation Hyundai Coupe, also known as the Veloster, will be debuting at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November, instead of the Paris Motor Show in September. That said, the all-new Coupe's previously reported arrival time of early 2011 for European countries and before mid-2011 for Malaysia should remain well on track.

First introduced at the 2007 Seoul Motor Show, the new 2+2 Coupe is billed as Hyundai's answer to the Volkswagen Scirocco. Appearance-wise, the upcoming hatchback-esque Coupe and the current two-door Coupe will have little in common other than the name. Hyundai even promised a “dramatic styling—even more so than the concept”.

Power could be provided by a 168-bhp 1.4-litre turbocharged, direct injection petrol engine. Two versions of a 1.6-litre direct injection petrol engine—a 140-bhp naturally-aspirated version and a 200-bhp turbocharged version—are also possible candidates according to a previous report.
