Audi A5 Coupe Finally Launched In Malaysia

Euromobil has finally launched the Audi A5 Coupe, one of the most handsome and elegant coupe around since 2007, with a price tag of RM 399,900 (on-the-road without insurance) for the 2.0 TFSI variant. Fully imported, the A5 Coupe 2.0 TFSI is more expensive than its closest competitor, the RM 378,800 BMW 325i Coupe.

Borrowed from the Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk6, but tuned for more torque, the 2.0-litre turbocharged, direct-injected engine generates 211 bhp between 4300–6000 rpm and 350 Nm from 1500–4200 rpm. Paired to a seven-speed S-Tronic dual-clutch gearbox and Quattro four-wheel-drive system, the engine powers the A5 Coupe from 0-100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and on to 245 km/h. The official fuel economy is equally impressive at 13.3 km/litre.

The sleek sheet-metal is supplemented by adaptive xenon headlamps, LED daytime running lights, front and rear fog lights, side mirrors with LED turn indicator and LED tail lamps. On the handling front, the Audi Drive Select system, with three driving modes—Auto, Comfort and Dynamic, is standard. Features such as light and rain sensors, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic parking brake and parking aids are all included to make your life easier.

As you might expect of an Audi, the interior is suitably classy to match the handsome exterior. The electrically-adjustable front seats are covered in Milano leather, the leather-clad sports steering wheel comes with multi-functional controls and shift paddles, and a three-zone automatic climate control system is fitted. Also standard is a Bang & Olufsen sound system (10-channel amplifier, 14 speakers and 505 watts output) with iPod, USB and Bluetooth connectivity. A six-disc CD changer and an SD card reader complete the audio package.

Safety equipments are also comprehensive, including six airbags, Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Traction Control (ASR), Electronic Differential Lock (EDL), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA).
