Ferrari To Shorten New Car Waiting Time To Less Than A Year

Have two million ringgit to spare but not the patience to endure the two-year wait for a Ferrari to be delivered to your doorstep? Good news if you fulfil those criteria, because Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo has made it a priority to reduce waiting times for all new Ferrari models to less than a year.
Currently, buyers have to wait as long as two years for the 458 Italia, and more than one-and-a-half years for the more expensive 599 GTB Fiorano and 612 Scaglietti. Di Montezemolo is concerned that the lengthy wait may end up pushing interested buyers to rivals, most obviously Lamborghini and Porsche.
“It looks bad against the competition”, di Montezemolo said of the current waiting time, but was quick to dismiss that Ferrari would produce more than a couple of thousand cars per year. “We're not talking about building more cars; we're talking about building them quicker”.
