2011 Suzuki Swift Unveiled Ahead Of Year-End Launch

Suzuki has unveiled the 2011 all-new, third-generation Swift, which promises improved dynamics, enhanced performance and lower consumption and emissions compared to the second-generation Swift, Suzuki's best-selling model worldwide.

Despite the mildly evolved styling, the new Swift is much changed underneath the familiar exterior, according to Suzuki. Thanks to a lighter, stiffer body, longer wheelbase and wider tracks, the upcoming Swift offers improved dynamics and more room than before.

The current 1.3-litre petrol engine is to be replaced by a more powerful 1.2-litre engine producing 93 bhp and 118 Nm. The enhanced performance is also accompanied by better fuel economy of 20.0 km/litre and lower carbon dioxide emissions of 116 grams/km.

The new Swift, available with only the aforementioned petrol engine at launch, will go on sale across European markets in the last quarter of 2010, with a 1.3-litre diesel engine and Swift Sport variant to follow in 2011.
