Kia Morning/Picanto Facelifted For 2010
Kia Morning, also known as Kia Picanto for most parts of the world and Naza Suria to Malaysians, has been facelifted for 2010. The new version of the popular city car was launched alongside the 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe in South Korea. This facelift is the second for Picanto since its launch in 2004, and like for the first facelift, there are merely minor cosmetic changes with a new front grille design, reshaped front and rear bumpers, new side skirts and revised tail lamps.
On the inside, Picanto gets a new trim and a re-designed three-spoke steering wheel. Under the bonnet, the 1.0-litre petrol engine is uprated to produce 72 hp, which is 8 horses more than before. All these changes are however only officially introduced in South Korea. While it may be a matter of time before the rest of the world enjoy the new features, Malaysians will have to make do with a Picanto that has received no facelifts and looks like it did in 2004. That said, it is not all bad, as neither the first nor the second facelift really improves Picanto's looks. Perhaps more importantly, Naza's local assembly of the car has lowered prices, making the car more affordable in the mould of Naza Suria.
