2010 All-New Hyundai Tucson Malaysia Pricing Announced

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors has announced the pricing for the 2010 all-new Hyundai Tucson, also known as Hyundai ix35. Although Tucson will only be officially launched in May, it is already available for test drive and booking countrywide. The 2.0-litre 2WD Standard-Spec version sells for RM 126,888, the 2.0-litre 2WD High-Spec version sells for RM 136,888, and the 2.4-litre 4WD goes for RM 152,888. Prices are on-the-road with insurance.

Paired to Hyundai's new six-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic, the two in-line four-cylinder petrol engines come from the Theta-II family and are equipped with dual variable valve timing and variable induction system. The 2.0-litre produces 164 bhp at 6200 rpm and 197 Nm at 4600 rpm; the 2.4-litre generates 175 bhp at 6000 rpm and 227 Nm at 4000 rpm.

The suspension consists of MacPherson struts at the front and multi-link at the rear. The power steering uses a conventional hydraulic setup. Safety equipments include dual front airbags, active headrests and braking controls comprising ABS for the base model. Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Downhill Brake Control (DBC) and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) for the two higher-end models.

Safety equipments aside, the base model also goes without a number of features that the higher-end models have, such as semi-leather seats, synthetic leather trim, smart key entry, engine start/stop button, panoramic sunroof and chrome grille/door handles. The 2.4-litre 4WD has to itself a power driver's seat and automatic climate control.

Six colours—Vanilla White, Hyper Metallic, Phantom Black, Sleek Silver, Gray Titanium and Blue Ice—are up for selection. And for your added peace of mind, the all-new Hyundai Tucson is offered with a 5-year or 300,000 km warranty. More information to come your way at the car's official launch next month.
