Breaking: F1 World Championship Remains Intact; Max Mosley Quits

This year's real F1 drama has not been happening on the race circuits; it is coming from the duel between FIA and FOTA. But after all the talks, threats, rumours and official statements, it seems the F1 World Championship will remain intact as we know it. There is however one casualty from all the internal fighting: controversial (to say the least after all his alleged sex scandals) FIA president Max Mosley.
Mosley has agreed to end his 16-year reign at the FIA effective immediately and not seek re-election. FOTA’s eight constituent teams (BMW Sauber, Brawn GP, Ferrari, McLaren-Mercedes, Renault, Red Bull Racing, Scuderia Toro Rosso, Toyota) have also agreed with FIA on terms to cut costs, with aims to reduce budget layouts back to 1990s' levels within two years.
According to The Times UK, the peaceful resolution between FIA and FOTA has come at the expense of Mosley, who has been “forced into a humiliating climbdown as president of the FIA.” To little surprise, the man himself mentioned that he is stepping down as he had originally intended to.
