Proton Persona Facelift Makes Official Debut

The Proton Persona, now officially known as Proton Persona Elegance, has received a facelift, which brings changes to the exterior and interior, new colour choices, changes in equipment levels and price increments across the range. The 110-bhp, 148-Nm 1.6-litre Campro IAFM engine remains, as do the three trim levels of Base Line (B-Line), Medium Line (M-Line) and High Line (H-Line).

Like before, the B-Line and M-Line can be chosen with either a four-speed automatic gearbox or a five-speed manual gearbox, while the H-Line must be specified with the automatic gearbox. B-Line (M) sells for RM 46,499, B-Line (A) sells for RM 49,499, M-Line (M) sells for RM 52,999, M-Line (A) sells for RM 55,999, and H-Line (A) goes for RM 59,499.

On the outside, Persona Elegance sports a restyled grille, blacked-out headlamps, new rear lamp clusters with LED brake lights and redesigned 15" wheels. The interior sees refreshed instrument dials with red needles and white numbering, and a new Blaupunkt single-DIN head unit.

Standard items on the B-Line include 15" steel wheels, auto door lock, power windows, keyless entry, alarm with immobiliser, reverse sensor, radio/CD/MP3 audio player with USB connectivity, and fabric upholstery. M-Line adds a body kit, rear spoiler, front fog lamps, alloy wheels, electrically-adjustable side mirrors, steering wheel audio switches, height-adjustable driver's seat, foldable rear seats, and airbag with seatbelt pretensioner for the driver's seat. H-Line further adds leather upholstery, auto cruise, boot with remote release, ABS with EBD, and airbag with seatbelt pretensioner for the front passenger's seat.

There are four colours—Chiffon Green, Bronze Garnet, Tranquility Black and Genetic Silver—to choose from; H-Line buyers have an additional choice in the Brilliant Red colour. A two-year/50,000 km manufacturer's warranty, as well as a three-year/125,000 km extended warranty, is available.
