Geneva Motor Show: Peugeot SR1 Concept
sponsored links
Peugeot caused quite a number of hearts to flutter when they first introduced the Peugeot SR1 concept, a stunning futuristic roadster that comes with the stance and proportions reminiscent of Aston Martins. Peugeot then killed off our infatuation by confirming that the SR1 will remain a concept car and not make production. Of course, it does little to aid our heartaches when the SR1 looks even better in the metal at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show.
Still, the SR1 heralds Peugeot's future styling direction and showcases the HYbrid4 diesel-electric hybrid system—made up of a 1.6-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine responsible for driving the front wheels and an electric motor for driving the rear wheels. The hybrid drivetrain generates around 315 bhp while returning 20.4 km/litre, giving the SR1 sports-car performance at small-car levels of maintenance.
Looking at the SR1 and analysing the specifications, it becomes glaringly obvious that the SR1 will never meet the roads. Because like with women, how can a car so beautiful be so low in maintenance?
