Geneva Motor Show: 2011 Lexus CT 200h
sponsored links
Starting off the Geneva Motor Show coverage is the Lexus CT 200h, a rival to Audi A3 and BMW 1-Series that is described by Lexus as “the first full hybrid vehicle to be launched in the premium compact segment”. CT 200h will remain as a hybrid-only model when it goes on sale worldwide in 2011, which presumably means that we will eventually see CT 200h in Malaysian showrooms, too?
Being a hybrid, the five-door CT 200h unsurprisingly features the 1.8-litre petrol-electric hybrid drivetrain that also powers Toyota Prius. There are four selectable drive modes: ECO, NORMAL, SPORT and EV (electric vehicle). ECO emphasizes on efficiency and economy, SPORT focuses on dynamics and performance, and EV lets you drive in purely electric mode for 2 km at a maximum speed of 45 km/h. No technical or performance figures have been released, however.
