Nissan has given the Navara truck and Pathfinder SUV, both of which are based on the same platform, a mid-life facelift. Changes include a refreshed exterior, updated interior, and a brand new engine.
In a bid to look current, Nissan has refreshed the exterior with restyled front and rear bumpers, new headlamp styling, different grille and bonnet design, and new 18-inch alloy wheels.
The interior boasts new door trims and seat fabrics, new-look dials, more chrome highlights and more tactile armrests and door pads. A rear view camera, Nissan Connect Premium, high-resolution touch screen, 40GB hard drive and Bose sound system could be standard or optional depending on the model and market.
An all-new 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel engine, a product of the Renault Nissan alliance, will be available for the first time. It generates 228 bhp and 550 Nm between 1750 rpm and 2500 rpm, with 500 Nm at your disposal from just 1500 rpm.
The existing 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel unit has been reworked to deliver 11 percent more power and torque, while reducing the fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions. The engine now generates 188 bhp and 450 Nm, with 11.8 km/litre and 224 grams/km for manual versions.
Nissan says the Navara has been topping the European sales chart for trucks since its launch in 2005, and so this facelift is necessary towards keeping its lead. Sales for European markets officially start in April, about one month after both vehicles' Geneva Motor Show introduction. Enjoy the mega gallery!
