Rolls-Royce now has official representation in Malaysia, with Quill Motorcars Sdn Bhd appointed as an authorised distributor here. Part of the Quill Group of Companies, which has extensive interest in the property market, Quill Motorcars is the first official Rolls-Royce distributor in Malaysia since 2003, when BMW took over the prestigious British car maker.
Quill Motorcars targets selling between eight to ten Rolls-Royce models annually, and the company will build a dedicated showroom and service facility in Petaling Jaya that will eventually be named Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Kuala Lumpur.
“The new dealership re-establishes an official Rolls-Royce retail and after-sales presence in Malaysia, signifying the company's confidence in the market”, said Colin Kelly, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars regional director for Asia Pacific.
Following other Asian countries like greater China, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Indonesia, Malaysia is deemed ready for Rolls-Royce—as in there is now a critical mass of high net worth individuals that finally warrants the brand's entry.
So how much should one expect to pay for a Rolls-Royce? If Naza's pricing is any indication, then RM 2.984 million for the Phantom sedan, and RM 2.889 million for the Phantom Drophead Coupe; Quill Motorcars will do well to meet their sales target.
