It took five years in the making from the concept car first unveiled at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show, but the production-ready Tata Aria crossover is here, showcased at the New Delhi Auto Show. Positioned as a crossover between an MPV and SUV, Aria will be Tata’s most expensive model when it goes on sale in India later this year. There are no plans to sell the car outside India for now, however.
Built on an all-new platform, Aria is powered by a 137-bhp, 320-Nm 2.2-litre diesel engine, with four-wheel drive available as an option. Reflecting Aria's higher price tag is the generous standard equipment list, which includes a surround sound system, climate control, cruise control, satellite navigation, six airbags and stability control.
