2010 BMW Z4 GT3 Set To Be Most Powerful Z4 With M3's V8 Engine

As part of its growing customer racing program, which produced the 2010 BMW M3 GTS, BMW’s Motorsport division has launched the Z4 GT3, a V8-powered version of the latest Z4. The 473 bhp 4.0-litre V8 engine, also found in BMW M3, is mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox. Other additions over the standard Z4 include wheels with locking and safety clips, racing ABS and a lightweight air-conditioner which is optional.

BMW's customer racing program is offering drivers and teams the chance to compete in national and international championships, such as the FIA GT3 European Championship, the International GT Open, the ADAC GT Masters, and a number of 24-hour endurance races.

As BMW has confirmed on multiple occasions that there will be no Z4 M this time round, the Z4 GT3 will likely be the most powerful Z4 you will see when it arrives in the second quarter of 2010.
