2012 All-new Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Spy Shot

While the design elements are mostly camouflaged, comprehensively we must add, the distinctive profile means that identifying the car as Mercedes-Benz's SL-Class is not all that hard. But is it an all-new model or a facelift of the current SL? After all, the current SL, produced since 2003, has just been given a major facelift. The previous-generation SL was actually in production from 1990–2002, so the current SL is relatively young.

Citing Dr. Thomas Weber from Daimler AG's Board of Management, a report from Inside Line appears to have the answer: The pictured car is the all-new SL roadster that will arrive in 2012.

In 2011, the all-new C-Class coupe will debut, while the C-Class sedan will receive a facelift, the report goes on to say.

2010 will see the launch of the all-new CLS four-door coupe, along with the arrival of facelifted versions of R-Class and CL coupe, the latter of which will be renamed S-Class coupe.
