Rolls-Royce Phantom Models Now Available In Malaysia

Ever wondered how much a Rolls-Royce costs in Malaysia? Well, now you know: The Rolls-Royce Phantom sedan sells for RM 2.984 million, while the Phantom Drophead Coupe goes for RM 2.889 million. These two models are imported by—you guessed it—Naza, via its subsidiary Naza Motor Trading Sdn Bhd, becoming the first company to bring into Malaysia the Rolls-Royce brand.
“These are serious motor cars and it is for the people who have arrived and achieved”, General manager Richard Tan said at the launch of the two models. “Buying the car has the same concept and value as why people want to buy a Van Gough painting, even though all you do is look at the painting”.
Putting aside our petrol heads for a moment, we will have to respectfully disagree with regards to the last point. Van Gough paintings may be for viewing only, but they are limited in numbers and would appreciate in value over time. On the other hand, Rolls-Royce models, as small a number as they are produced in, are no more than commodities manufactured in factories by comparison. And let's not get started on the issue of depreciation.
Naza is targeting to sell five models per year, although there has been no orders thus far. Like a Van Gough painting in a museum, the Rolls-Royce models are available for viewing at the Naza World showroom.
