Edo Competition Spices Up Ferrari California

Despite being quite another brilliant sports car to bear the Prancing Horse, Ferrari California has been described by some as too effeminate. While we think California complements the rest of Ferrari's range nicely, and is perfectly fine left alone, some toughening up would not hurt. That is when German tuner Edo Competition comes into the picture.

Edo Competition fitted California with larger, more aggressive alloy wheels, but unusually left out a full body kit. The 4.3-liter V8 powerplant is tweaked to deliver 40 more horses, making it 492 bhp in all. The torque increase is less significant, but still 500 Nm is available on tap. The enhanced power levels seem to translate into meager on-road gains, as the 0-100 km/h run in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 315 km/h are at best marginally better than official figures from Ferrari.

Not enough modifications? Upon request, Edo Competition can lower the springs, fit on a sport suspension system with adjustable damping, or tack on larger alloy wheels.
