Ford Mondeo Arrives In Malaysia For RM178,888

Fulfilling its promise, Sime Darby Auto ConneXion has officially launched the much-anticipated Ford Mondeo in Malaysia. Fully imported from Genk, Belgium, Mondeo sells for RM 178,888 on-the-road with insurance. Available in four colours, Mondeo comes with a 3-year or 100,000 km warranty.

Mated to the Durashift six-speed automatic gearbox with Sports mode, Ford's 2.3-litre Duratec HE 16-valve engine churns out 159 bhp at 6500 rpm and 208 Nm at 4000 rpm. Front brakes are ventilated discs, with solid discs for the rear. MacPherson Strut makes up the front suspension, while Control Blade multi-link is used for the rear.

Standard equipments include 17-inch alloy wheels, front/rear fog lights, dual-zone electronic climate control, leather steering wheel with audio controls, leather gear knob, leather seats, 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, remote keyless entry and 8-speaker audio system with in-dash 6-disc CD changer and MP3 playback ability.

Safety features are comprehensive, including a 5-star rating by Euro NCAP, ABS with EBD, Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), seven airbags (driver/front passenger/side/curtain/driver’s knee), seat belt pretensioners and two ISOFIX mounting points for child seats.

With an annual target sales number of 200 to 300, Mondeo comes on the heeds of new versions of Escape, Everest, Focus and Ranger launched earlier this year, making 2009 a busy year for Sime Darby Auto ConneXion. 2010 promises to be another fruitful year as plans are on the way to bring in the S-Max, Fiesta and a turbodiesel Focus.
