Bentley To Produce Two New Models By 2014

Bentley has just launched the 2011 Bentley Mulsanne, but the people from Crewe are not resting on their laurels. According to a report from Automobile Magazine, the UK-based automaker is working on a project codenamed New Compact Bentley (NCB), with the aim of creating two models, a shooting brake and a crossover, positioned below the Bentley Continental range.

A shooting brake body style is that of a sporty, two-door coupe-cum-hatchback, usually with four seats. The crossover would be similar to Audi Allroad. Both of them are likely to share the new, flexible platform with Audi A6 and A7. The drivetrain would most likely be dominated by a 4.5-litre twin-turbo V8 churning out around 550 horsepower, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and driven through the four-wheels.

The new Bentleys are expected sometime in 2014, with an annual production target of up to 7,500 units.
