Ferrari Enzo Successor Arriving By 2012, Say Reports

If you are one uber-wealthy car lover that has missed out on the limited-edition Ferrari Enzo, this piece of news might have you excited. According to the latest reports, the successor to Enzo, codenamed F70, would be ready by 2012. As it stands, F70 would take cues from FXX, a hypercar based on Enzo and produced in very limited numbers, 30 that is it, between 2005 and 2007.
For the finalised F70, expect to see the body and chassis constructed from lightweight carbon fibre, and a stripped-down cabin that is stingy on comfort but good for weight-saving. By then, Ferrari's new twin-turbo system could be ready for deployment, with an output that at least matches the Enzo's 650 horses. Direct injection should minimise the carbon dioxide emissions and hence environmental impact of all that power too. Of course, nothing is certain for now, but if Maranello's latest, Ferrari California, is any indication, Ferrari's flagship should be something special.
