2011 BMW 6 Series Convertible Spotted In Scandinavia

Any recollections of the "Really stunning and super sleek" car that BMW's US chief mentioned a couple of weeks back? Our photographers have spotted a convertible version of the upcoming 6-series doing some snow testing in Scandinavia. Unfortunately, the prototype is still heavily camouflaged by the fancy black and white masking tapes but the overall shape and size of the prototype indicates that the upcoming model should be of similar size to its predecessor. BMW appeared to have chosen the traditional canvas soft-top over the popular hardtop featured in recent high end convertibles such as the Mercedes SL. This ensures that the new BMW convertible will not be burdened by the heavy hardtop while freeing up some extra boot space for your golf bags at the same time.
No radical changes are expected to be introduced to the 2011 BMW 6-Series' powertrain. The new 6-Series is expected to be fitted with updated versions of the 3.0 liter and 4.8 liter v8 engines when it reaches our shores while twin-turbocharged six cylinder diesel engine will most likely be offered as an additional alternative to other parts of the world. In addition, BMW's Efficient Dynamics System which boasts features such as the Start/Stop and regenerative braking technology will come as standard.
