2013 Mitsubishi Triton New Single Cab Option Launched in Malaysia
Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has recently launched a new variant to the heavy-duty pick-up truck. Introducing the new 2013 Mitsubishi Triton Single Cab; set to challenge the likes of other single cab pick-up trucks including the Hilux Single Cab, D-Max Single Cab and the Navara Single Cab.
Powered by a 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, the engine’s power is channelled to the Mitsubishi’s Easy Select 4WD system by a five-speed manual transmission. The naturally aspirated indirect-injection engine is able to produce 198Nm of torque at just 2,000rpm. With Mitsubishi Triton’s Easy Select system - as available in the twin cab variant, the new Triton Single Cab offers a ‘Shift on the Fly’ feature, which allows a shift between 2WD to 4WD at speeds of up to 100km/h.
Enhancing the reliability of the new Mitsubishi Triton Single Cab is a re-tuned engine that’s been optimised to run on low-quality diesel fuel to reduce the risk of engine damage from forced fuelling. In terms of its dimensions, the Triton Single Cab has extended its cargo bed, which adds more capacity for longer loads and lowered the cargo height for the ease of loading.
As standard, safety features the Mitsubishi Triton Single Cab comes with Anti-Intrusion brake pedal, collapsible steering and the Mitsubishi’s Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body construction.
The 2013 Mitsubishi Triton Single Cab goes on sale from RM70,409 (OTR, without insurance). The Triton Single Cab package covers a three-year or 100,000km warranty with a two-year free maintenance.
