2013 All-New Toyota Vios Spotted In Thailand; A Sign of More Toyotas To Come?

Having been informed by our sister company, Autospinn.com, it seems an all-new Toyota Vios has been out and about in Thailand, as spotted by readers of one of the largest motoring websites in our neighbouring country.

Along with the recent sighting of the new Toyota Corolla Altis, it seems the Japanese carmaker is yet again teasing glances of its anticipated new line-up; this time with its new Toyota Vios.

Very little is actually known about the car apart from what eagle-eyed viewers from Thailand have managed to snap pictures of, but going off current market demands and trends, we can hazard a few guesses towards what we can expect of the upcoming Toyota Vios.

While its engine may remain a 1.5-litre VVT-i, we suspect that Toyota may ditch its 4-speed automatic transmission, and bring in a more economical five-speed automatic transmission; or maybe even a CVT.

It’ll be a safe bet too, for the new Toyota Vios to carry more than two airbags on the new model. With ASEAN NCAP results making news recently – highlighting the frontal collision safety of these cars, future side impact tests will separate the really safe cars, from the ones with just two airbags.

In terms of design, the pictures captured here show the new Toyota Vios in a very modern, sharp and clean look. Those rims look mighty sporty as well. And are those DRL (Daytime Running Lights) LEDs that we see? Visually, the new Vios is a massive step up in the right direction!

We also speculate that the sighting of the new Corolla Altis - and now the new Vios, potentially signals the arrival of a whole new fleet of Toyota models.

The Toyota Hilux is some eight years old, and may be in for a change. And if there’s a new Hilux on the cards, we can probably expect a new Fortuner and Innova as well; both of which share the same platform of the Hilux.
