Ferrari World Abu Dhabi Theme Park Opening 2010

Move aside Dubai, Abu Dhabi will be the new centre of attention in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The oil-rich Middle Eastern state has apparently struck a deal with Ferrari to build the world’s first Ferrari theme park, to be called “Ferrari World Abu Dhabi”. Plans are on track for it to open sometime in 2010.

The theme park will have the world’s fastest roller-coaster and another ride that aims to simulate the G-forces experienced by drivers in F1 cars. But it is perhaps the roof over the park that will be more of a talking point: it will span a massive 2,152,782 square feet and will house the largest Ferrari logo ever made.

Location is imperative to the success of any commercial operation, and “Ferrari World Abu Dhabi” seems to have this covered: Located on Yas Island on the north-east side of Abu Dhabi’s mainland, the theme park is only about 10 minutes away from Abu Dhabi International Airport and 50 minutes from Abu Dhabi's new F1 racing track, Yas Marina Circuit.
