Fairuz Fauzy Ready For F1 Racing With Lotus F1 Team

Fairuz Fauzy, the only Malaysian driver among six shortlisted to race for Lotus F1 Team, claimed he is ready to step up to Formula One next year, after taking the runner-up spot in the World Series by Renault.

“With Lotus F1, there is a real possibility of me achieving my lifetime dream of driving in F1, but I knew I needed to really prove that I was ready”, Fauzy said to New Straits Times. “I hope with this, I have proved enough”.

The 27-year-old was the reserve and test driver for the Spyker F1 team, and had experience in GP2. He represents A1 Team Malaysia, and races in the World Series. Although no official word will be out until later this month, it is widely believed that Fauzy will most likely be the test driver for Lotus F1 Team next year, although the spot alongside veteran Jarno Trulli remains vacant.
