2012 Honda Jazz Hybrid CKD To Launch In Malaysia This Fourth Quarter
A locally-assembled and cheaper Honda Jazz Hybrid will be coming your way by the end of 2012, according to an official announcement made by Honda Malaysia. Honda hybrids are currently only built in Japan and the US, so when CKD operations begin, Honda Malaysia will become the first non-national car manufacturer in Malaysia to locally produce hybrid vehicles.
The Jazz Hybrid will roll out from the “Line 1” production line at Honda's Pegoh Plant in Alor Gajah, Melaka, where the City, Civic, Accord and CR-V are presently locally-assembled with around 40 percent of local content. As part of a RM 350 million upgrading exercise, the new “Line 2” production line will join in the fourth quarter of 2013, contributing an annual capacity of 100,000 units. Together, the “Line 1”, in operation since 2003, and “Line 2” can produce up to 800 cars per day, double the current output. Read more on the 2012 Honda Jazz Hybrid's launch details.
