iRacing Wants To Bring Gaming To Another Level... Too Bad Malaysians Can't Find Out

For most people, video games like the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 and Forza Motorsport 3 are purely entertainment. And game creators themselves expect their games to entertain. That is all. But the creators behind iRacing.com have grander plans. They envision “internet racing as a recognized competition with its own global sanctioning body, a place where an amateur racer can have a fulfilling career and where professional drivers can hone their skills”. Wow...
To start playing racing, you will need a PC, a gaming steering wheel or game pad, a reliable internet connection (not suitable for Malaysians then). Subscribe for a lowest rate of RM 25/month, install the iRacing software, select the race format, and you should be good to race. There are 17 licensed cars and 36 road and oval tracks to choose from. It all sounds quite fun then, and apparently 15,000 others think so too, including some professional drivers who left their testimonials.
We would love to join, and tell you if iRacing is worth your money and time. That is before Telekom's Streamyx connection acted up and disconnected... again. So until Telekom improves substantially, we would just stick to Forza Motorsport 3.
