2012 Entry-level Perodua Alza SR Launched In Malaysia

Perodua has launched the entry-level Alza SR, which stands for Alza Smart Ride, positioned below the Alza Standard and Advanced versions. New variants are the 1.5 BX manual at RM 53,513.50 and the 1.5 BZ automatic at RM 56,513.50. (OTR prices include insurance and are for metallic colours—Glittering Silver and the new Mystical Purple; the solid Ivory White colour is RM 500 cheaper.)
For a saving of RM 2500 over the cheapest Alza Standard variant, Alza SR owners will have to live without UV protection on all windows except the windscreen; the chrome on the grille, and electrically-operated side mirrors. Alloy wheels are still standard, however. The most significant difference lies inside, where the new automatic variant now has a floor-mounted parking brake, instead of a foot-operated parking brake used in more expensive Alza automatic variants, necessitating the change from bench-type to separate front seats.
In the two years plus since the compact seven-seater MPV's launch back in November 2009, Perodua has sold 81,000 units of the Alza. The newly-launched Alza SR is expected to contribute monthly sales of 400 units, which represent about 13 percent of all Alza sales in a month. Enjoy the 2012 Perodua Alza SR official gallery below!
