2012 All-New Ford Ranger Spotted In Malaysia Towing Four Trucks!

Talk about creative ways to garner attention. The all-new Ford Ranger was spotted on video by reader Hafiz Zainal, not just running around on Malaysian roads, but doing so towing four trucks: its predecessor, the current Ranger, and its truck rivals, the Mitsubishi Triton, the Toyota Hilux and the Isuzu D-Max.
The Ranger is the second best-selling Ford model in Malaysia after the Fiesta, and so it is hardly surprising that Sime Darby AutoConnexion has pulled out all the stops for something new and interesting. Still, towing four trucks requires more than ingenuity, and the upcoming Ranger apparently has enough torque on tap to accomplish that feat in the video.
The impending launch of the 2012 Ford Ranger should be in the form of two turbodiesel variants: a 2.2-litre four-cylinder unit with 150 PS and 375 Nm, and a 3.2-litre five-cylinder unit with 200 PS and 470 Nm. Likely to be offered are new transmissions including a six-speed automatic gearbox and a six-speed manual gearbox. A five-speed manual gearbox could be an option as well. The current Ranger is powered by a 2.5-litre turbodiesel engine with an already impressive 143 PS and 330 Nm, complemented by five-speed manual/automatic gearboxes.
