2012 Citroen DS4 To Launch In Malaysia Come February For Around RM150K

The 2012 Citroen DS4 will launch in Malaysia this coming February for an expected pricing of RM 150,000. That would likely be for the base variant with the THP 156 Prince engine mated to a six-speed EGS automated manual gearbox—the exact powertrain in the Citroen C4. Another higher-end variant uses the THP 200 Prince engine, the same 1.6-litre turbocharged engine in a more powerful state of tune, that offers 200 PS at 5800 rpm and 275 Nm at 1700 rpm, with all that power driving the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox.

The second model in Citroen's DS luxury line after the DS3, the DS4 is essentially the C4 dressed in dramatic coupe styling and bigger 18" alloys for visual differentiation, while large 340 mm front ventilated disc brakes are installed to rein in spirited driving. The good news: there are still two rear doors to aid access. The bad news: you will have to get used to locating the rear door handles which are integrated into the window frame, out of sight.

The frustration for first-time rear-door openers could continue inside because the rear windows are—rather peculiarly—fixed. Some saving grace is provided by the panoramic windscreen which extends into the roofline, lifting the cabin ambience significantly. Occupants are also pampered with four ranges of polyphonic sounds (Classic, Crystal Symphony, Jungle Fantasy and Urban Rythmik) used for driving alerts and reminders, as well as a choice of colours backlighting the instrument cluster.
