2012 Citroen C4 Launched In Malaysia For RM126K

Brooklands Motors, the official distributor of the Citroen and Ssangyong brands in Malaysia, has launched the 2012 Citroen C4 for RM 125,990 excluding insurance. The launch event was held at the company's new double-storey headquarters and 3S centre located along the Federal Highway in Petaling Jaya.

The Citroen five-door hatchback, a mechanical sibling of the Peugeot 308, is powered by the Peugeot-BMW co-developed Prince THP turbocharged engine unit with 156 HP at 5800 rpm and 240 Nm usable from a low 1400 rpm. While the 308 Turbo pairs that engine to a six-speed conventional automatic gearbox, the C4 uses a six-speed EGS automated manual gearbox.

Together, the powertrain drives the Citroen C4 from rest to 100 km/h in 9.6 seconds, and on to a top speed of 212 km/h. With the latest turbocharging and direct injection engine technologies, the C4 returns 15.6 km/litre in fuel economy and emits 148 grams/km of polluting carbon dioxide.

The fully-imported Citroen C4 may be selected from nine exterior colours, but is limited to a single Exclusive trim comprising 17" alloys, panoramic sunroof, automatic headlamps, paddle shifts, dual-zone climate control, steering switches and cruise control. An optional package costing RM 7000 adds 18" alloys, leather seats with built-in massage function, and dynamic bi-xenon headlamps.

Being European, the Citroen C4 is constructed to a high safety standard. In fact, it has been awarded five stars by Euro NCAP, thanks to safety gears such as six airbags, ABS, EBD, traction control and stability control. Modern features including cornering lights and blind spot monitoring system are onboard to minimize the possibilities of an accident in the first place.
