2012 All-New Hyundai Elantra To Launch In Malaysia By February 2012
The 2012 all-new Hyundai MD Elantra, its predecessor also known as the Avante, will be launched in Malaysia either in January or February of next year, Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has officially announced. Locally-assembled in Malaysia, the Elantra will be badged as an Inokom upon launch, though there is no indication as yet to the pricing except that it will be “exceptionally accessible”. The five-year/300,000km warranty, standard for all Hyundai models, adds to the ownership proposition.
Introduced at the Busan International Motor Show in April 2010, the Hyundai Elantra sports a dynamic design based on the Korean automaker's Fluidic Sculpture language, one that has influenced head-turning cars like the Tucson and Sonata YF. Two engines, a 150-HP 1.8-litre Nu unit and a 130-HP 1.6-litre Gamma unit, will be available to Malaysians, each paired to a Hyundai-developed six-speed automatic transmission.
