Malaysia's Honda CR-Z To Be Offered In Three New Colours In Early 2012

Talk about drumming up publicity early. Honda Malaysia has announced not the introduction of three new colours for the CR-Z, but the impending addition of colours—Storm Silver Metallic, Milano Red and Crystal Black Pearl—come early 2012. Officially launched in early November at RM 115,000 with insurance, the 2011 Honda CR-Z garnered over 300 bookings within a month despite it being offered in one colour, Premium White Pearl, and one transmission option: a six-speed manual gearbox.

The Honda CR-Z may indeed be the world's first hybrid vehicle fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox, but that accolade means little for Malaysians tired from having to endure lengthy traffic jams with a gear shifter in hand and a clutch beneath their feet. More efficient than its manual counterpart, the CVT automatic option should arrive in Malaysia next year, though there is so far no word nor indication when in 2012.
