Frankfurt Motor Show: Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale

No, this is not the Lamborghini Gallardo replacement, but the most uncompromised Gallardo to-date that will be produced in a limited run of 150 units, in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy.

The Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale is inspired by race cars from the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, a racing championship in which different versions of the Gallardo race one another.

The Super Trofeo Stradale is painted in the distinctive “Rosso Mars” red colour, contrasted by matte black finish and carbon fibre on some parts like the front spoiler, rear diffuser and rear wing. Inside, the cabin follows the same two-tone colour scheme in a mix of Alcantara and carbon fibre.

The same 5.2-litre V10 engine with 570 hp at 8000 rpm and 540 Nm at 6500 rpm that powers the Superleggera and the Blancpain Super Trofeo race car also does duty in the Super Trofeo Stradale. A robotised e-gear six-speed transmission, controlled via steering wheel paddles, sends power to all four wheels.

Thanks to the extra power and extensive use of carbon fibre and aluminium, which reduces weight by 70 kg compared with the base LP 560-4 Gallardo, the Super Trofeo Stradale sprints from zero to 100 km/h in a mere 3.4 seconds, before topping out at 320 km/h.
