2010 Peugeot 408 Spyshot Reveals... Nothing Much

Under the heavy disguise is the all-new 2010 Peugeot 408. We know what you are thinking: the camouflage is so comprehensive that this photo reveals nothing. But it at least shows that our spy photographers are actually working, and that 408 should be on the way for official introduction later this year.

According to a Peugeot source, 408's styling changes from 407 are evolutionary compared to the revolutionary visual leap from 406 to 407. The company insider, who was not allowed to discuss this issue, went on to compare 408 to Opel Insignia, pointing out the similarities in “overall effect”.

408 will be using an all-new chassis, shared by Citroen C5, featuring hydropneumatic suspension. A diesel hybrid powertrain, which Peugeot is pioneering, is expected to debut in 2011, a year after the arrival of 408 in 2010.
