Frankfurt Motor Show: Kia GT Concept

You are staring at the stunning Kia GT Concept, the Korean automaker's first attempt at a rear-wheel-drive car which is rumoured to be reaching production lines in 2013. A design concept that began life less than a year ago, the GT Concept is a modern take on the classic front-engine/rear-drive proportion of sports cars such as the iconic 1970s GT cars.

Kia understands the need for a high-performance halo sports car that will lend sporting credentials to the entire model range, hence the conception of the GT Concept. There is more than just looks on offer, however, with a 3.3-litre turbocharged, direct-injected V6 engine delivering 395 hp and 534 Nm to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
