2011 Mitsubishi ASX Special Edition Launched In Malaysia

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has launched the 2011 Mitsubishi ASX Special Edition, which is offered in a limited run of 50 units, to mark the first anniversary of the compact Mitsubishi SUV's presence in Malaysia. (Which makes us wonder if there will be anymore in the following years?)

Priced at RM 142,980 OTR with insurance, RM 3K more than the standard ASX, the Mitsubishi Lancer-based ASX Special Edition wears a front under cover, a rear garnish, an exclusive body sticker and window visors. The two exterior colours up for selection are White Pearl and Mica Black.

The bulk of the price premium goes to the “race-inspired” leather seats with red stitching, the built-in GPS system with Bluetooth functionality, and the iPhone/iPod/USB audio connectivity. Powertrain upgrades are non-existent, though that is hardly surprising, with the 150 PS, 197 Nm 2.0-litre 4B11 engine still mated to the INVECS-III CVT.
