2011 All-New Audi A6 Officially Launched In Malaysia

The 2011 all-new Audi A6 luxury sedan has been officially launched in Malaysia, starting with the A6 3.0 TFSI Quattro variant priced at RM 515,000 on-the-road without insurance. Competing for sales against the popular likes of the BMW 5-Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the fourth-generation Audi A6 range will be boosted by the A6 2.0 TFSI variant next month. The arrival of the all-new Audi A6 soon after its global debut early this year is a testament to Euromobil's effort to offer Malaysians the latest Audi models.

The 3.0-litre TFSI V6 engine benefits from direct injection and turbocharging, producing 300 hp between 5250–6500 rpm and 440 Nm between 2900–4500 rpm. The generated power goes to all four wheels through the Quattro AWD system and the seven-speed dual-clutch S-tronic transmission. Aided by a relatively low kerb weight, the A6 3.0 TFSI Quattro does the 0-100 km/h dash in 5.5 seconds, before hitting the limited maximum speed of 250 km/h.

Say what you will about Audi's evolutionary styling, but know that the 2011 all-new Audi A6 has 30 percent of its familiar-looking body constructed out of aluminium. The A6 3.0 TFSI Quattro weighs 1740 kg, giving it better performance, improved fuel economy and lowered carbon emissions compared with cars of similar size and specifications. Weight-saving, along with innovative thermal management and automatic start-stop technology, explains why the official fuel economy and carbon emissions are rated as 12.2 km/litre and 190 grams/km, respectively.

The huge price tag gets you standard items such as adaptive xenon headlamps, LED daytime running lights, automatic lights and wipers, electrically-adjustable front seats (driver's seat has memory function), leather sports seats, leather multi-function sports steering wheel with shift paddles, leather gear lever knob, cruise control, reverse camera, smart entry, Bluetooth, 7" trip computer colour display in the instrument panel, MMI system interfaced via a dash-mounted 6.5" colour display, 6-dics CD changer, two SDHC card readers, MP3/WMA/AAC audio compatibility, iPod/USB audio connectivity, and 600-watt BOSE surround sound system with 14 loudspeakers and a 12-channel amplifier.

The A6 3.0 TFSI Quattro comes with sports suspension for improved handling, as well as the Audi Drive Select system that offers five different driving modes: Auto, Comfort, Dynamic, Efficiency (new) and Individual, the last of which allows the driver to adjust and programme various dynamic settings to suit personal preferences. Keeping you safe are eight airbags and the Electronic Stabilisation Program (ESP), which also controls the ABS, EBD, BA, Traction Control (ASR) and Electronic Differential Lock (EDL).
