Honda Malaysia Recalls Three Models For ‘Product Update’
sponsored links
Honda Malaysia has announced a “product update campaign” for the Honda City (2006-2007), the Honda Jazz (2005-2007), and the Honda Civic (2006-2008). In total, 20,949 units of the City, 2970 units of the Jazz, and 16,537 units of the Civic are involved in this campaign, which seems like a recall however you look at it.
The affected Honda City and Honda Jazz units could suffer from a problematic power window master switch, which could fail and cause a minor short-circuit under certain conditions, producing a burnt smell. Honda Malaysia will rectify the problem by installing a new power window switch.
The power steering feed hose in the affected Honda Civic units may leak oil in the event that it degrades in the hot and humid weather typical of Malaysia. Despite the low chances of any serious safety issues, Honda Malaysia will, in the replacement, use rubber with better heat resistance for the power steering feed hose.
Honda Malaysia assures all customers that new models do not suffer from the same problems. Owners of the units involved in this recall are reminded to bring their cars in for repairs as soon as they receive notification. All replacement parts as well as parts and labour charges will be cost-free to affected owners.
