Frankfurt 2009: Aston Martin Rapide Ready After Three Years
sponsored links
You are looking at the Aston Martin Rapide—the British automaker's first production four-door sports car. To describe Rapide as elegant is like saying Ferraris are fast—the word elegance just does not do the stunningly sleek, flowing design any justice. Granted, Aston Martin could take less styling liberties due to the extra two doors—the two-door Aston Martin DB9 and Vantage are still the prettiest objects, beyond cars, on earth—but as four-door cars come, Rapide is as beautiful as the best of them.
Aston Martin has not always been successful with all cars four-door—Aston Martin Lagonda Rapide and Lagonda were unfortunate examples. Still, the well-received Rapide seems set to break that trend. It has come a long way in production readiness since its debut at the 2006 Detroit Auto Show, appearing ready to set Aston Martin's sales figure ablaze next year.
