Frankfurt 2009: 2010 Audi R8 Spyder More Complete Than Ever

Audi R8 is a fabulous car, a supercar in fact, without the badge or style to show for it. But as most auto enthusiasts should know, Lamborghini belongs to Audi, so it makes the R8's lack of a super-prestigious badge all right. The style issue is harder to get past. Not that it looks bad, far from it, but it lacks the drama of supercars or the elegance of true GTs. The carbon fibre side blades are really more distracting than complementary.

No such worries with the R8 Spyder. Because it looks simply gorgeous, especially with the top down—which is how you want to spend most of your time, with the Lamborghini-sourced 5.2-litre V10 bellowing hard. A lightweight cloth top that takes 19 seconds to fold completely acts as the roof. However, few if any convertibles can maintain a 100 percent of their coupe equivalent's structural integrity. While that would inevitably mean somewhat compromised dynamics, does anyone truly care given how breathtaking this R8 looks?
