Frankfurt 2009: The Glassy Citroen C3

You are looking at the all-new Citroen C3, which will be arriving in U.K. early 2010. Other than the contemporary lines and general cuteness, you may also observe the unique and innovative “Zenith” windscreen, which extends up and over the heads of the front occupants, giving the cabin an excellent view of the surroundings. The cabin is supposedly exceptional in interior space and quality, too, although that will require further examination.

Emitting just 99 grams/km of carbon dioxide, the HDi 90 powered C3 will be impressively clean. Even “greener” engines will be introduced from 2011, featuring diesel engines with as low as 90 grams/km emissions and three-cylinder petrol engines with less than 100 grams/km emissions. Based on the same platform as the C3 Picasso and Peugeot 207, C3 should be decent on the roads, if 207 is any indication.

It waits to be seen if Citroen's Malaysian distributor Brooklands Motors will bring in C3, although that is not likely before the introduction of petrol engines in 2011.
