Honda Malaysia To Resume Full Production Capacity From August 1

Honda Malaysia will resume full production capacity of two shifts at its Alor Gajah plant in Malacca on August 1, while adding on more working hours on weekdays and Saturdays to make up for the shortfall in production units from April to July, a result of the parts and components supply chain disruption after an earthquake and tsunami hit Japan on March 11.
Production at all Honda plants, including those responsible for producing parts and components for export, in Japan had resumed on April 11, but it is only now that Honda Malaysia has deemed the supply chain situation clear enough to make this latest announcement.
The recovery in local production will reduce the delivery time for Honda customers awaiting their cars, as Honda dealerships are limited in car stock at the moment. Booking for the fully-imported Honda Insight has resumed on June 1 following a suspension on April 7. Order taking for all other Honda models continues unaffected as per normal.
