The 2011 Peugeot RCZ sports coupe will be launched in Malaysia next week, the local official Peugeot distributor Nasim has announced. Peugeot's answer to the Audi TT, the 2+2 RCZ coupe is the second of three Peugeot models to be launched locally in 2011, after the arrival of the 2011 Peugeot 308 CC in January.
Based on the Peugeot 308 hatchback, the RCZ is powered by two versions of the 1.6-litre twin-scroll turbocharged BMW-PSA Prince engine: 156 hp and 240 Nm, and 200 hp and 275 Nm. The lower-powered engine will be mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox, and the range-topper engine with a six-speed manual gearbox.
The RCZ will compete in the “premium coupe segment”, according to Nasim, so you can expect a pricing to match. Unlike many current Peugeot models, the RCZ is quite the looker, having been voted The Most Beautiful Car of the Year at the 25th International Automobile Festival. Top Gear UK magazine further affirmed the rest of the RCZ, naming it the Coupe of the Year in 2010. Enjoy the official photo gallery of the 2011 Peugeot RCZ below!
