Changan ERA Star Mini Truck To Enter Local Assembly From Q3 2011

Changan Berjaya Auto Sdn Bhd, the official distributor for the Changan brand in Malaysia, ASEAN and other right-hand-drive car markets, has announced plans to locally assemble the ERA Star—the number one mini truck in China for five years running from 2006 to 2010—by the third quarter of 2011.

Expected to be priced under RM 30K, the ERA Star is powered by a 1.3-litre engine producing 82 hp and 102 Nm, with the generated power transmitted to the ground via a manual gearbox. More importantly, the ERA Star boasts ample load capacity, according to Changan Berjaya Auto, though no further details have been released so far.
